Reviews for Amici - SM Megamall
Review highlights
Based on 171 reviewsAmici - SM Megamall is recognized for its cozy and inviting ambiance, making it a popular spot for Italian cuisine enthusiasts within the mall setting. Patrons often praise the restaurant for its delicious and well-prepared pizzas and pastas, highlighting the thin-crust pizzas that allow the flavors to shine and the comforting, home-style quality of the dishes. Service is frequently described as attentive and efficient, complemented by thoughtful touches like complimentary bread and gelato that enhance the dining experience. Some feedback notes that portion sizes may be modest and prices slightly higher given the mall location, while a few dishes occasionally lack seasoning or expected ingredients. Overall, Amici balances authentic flavors with a polished, comfortable dining atmosphere.
I look back with fondness to Amici in the early 2010s, particularly the original branch at Don Bosco Makati, where my son was a student. Back then, dining at Amici felt like stepping into someone’s home—the food carried a genuine home-cooked quality that was both comforting and unpretentious. Fast forward to 2025, and while the food remains consistently delicious, it has taken on a more polished, “restaurant-style” character. The warmth and simplicity that once defined the experience have, understandably, evolved with the brand’s expansion. Their Spaghetti Bolognese is still enjoyable, though I personally find that Spaghetti House edges it out in terms of depth and flavor. The Pollo Arrostito—a rosemary-baked chicken dish—is still well-executed, but I recall the version we always ordered at the original Makati branch being more flavorful and rustic. The Creamy Truffle Pasta is a welcome addition, though I don’t remember it being on the menu back in the day. It’s creamy and satisfying, but could benefit from a more pronounced truffle note to really elevate the dish. Despite the changes, Amici remains a solid and competent Italian restaurant. It may have lost a bit of its original home cooking charm, but it has managed to retain key strengths—particularly in their desserts. Their gelato selection and brazo de mercedes remain among the best in town, offering a sweet reminder of what has always made Amici special.
A good Italian restaurant in Megamall. Ordered Caesar salad and seafood spaghetti and they were both good. Portion was just enough for two. The service we received was excellent, the servers were attentive and not difficult to call. The place itself was comfortable, but can imagine it hurting crammed when busy. The price was a bit on a high side but it is in a mall. You can pay with Apple Pay.
Fast service. They serve complimentary bread. Food was delicious but: Chicken Salad had very little chicken. The chicken was very flavorful but there were like 5 small pcs. Why bother calling it chicken salad. I like how thin their pizza is so you could really taste the flavors. Aglio Olio pasta was okay.
The Diablo Spaghetti took 20 minutes to make but it was worth it 4/5. The Tutta Carne Pizza came early but lacked salt, I was able to fix the taste with salt 4/5. The 3 scoop gelato Mint chocolate, blueberry, and chocolate therapy are really good 5/5! The complimentary Foccacia and mango magnifico were appreciated and added value to the meal. The honey chili sauce, balsamic vinegar, and olive oil really enhance the foccacia and pizza crust.
A trendy and cozy place located in the 3rd floor of Megamall. They have great pizzas and pastas.
Amici offers a delightful dining experience with its authentic Italian cuisine that truly captures the essence of Italy. The dishes are not only delicious but also generously portioned, making the pricing feel well-justified given the quality and quantity of food served. The service at Amici is exceptional; the staff is attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that guests feel welcomed and well-cared-for throughout their meal. However, it is worth noting that the dining area is somewhat compact and tends to be quite noisy due to the proximity of neighboring restaurants. This can be a drawback for patrons who are sensitive to sound, making it less suitable for those seeking a peaceful dining experience or romantic dinners. The open layout and bustling atmosphere can detract from the ambiance and privacy that some diners may prefer. Overall, while the culinary offerings are top-notch, the noise level might pose a challenge for those who value a quieter dining environment.
Food is very well prepared. We loved each of our order. Bistecca’s texture is impeccable. Pasta was delicious. Salad refreshing. Attentive service. They gave us a free slice of cake. Will come back for sure!
